Meet the Du Charme Family: Growing a Family and a Business in New Berlin!

I am very blessed to have been born into such an amazing family. For those who do not know, I not only am Rob Du Charme's Executive Assistant but am also his daughter. I grew up learning from my parents and developed a passion for helping others, especially when it comes to wellness. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management - Finance from BYUI and came back to WI to work alongside my dad.

Passionate About Our Community

We are passionate about helping our community - that is why almost 3 years ago we made the decision to move out of our Waukesha office and open our office in our hometown of New Berlin. Both Rob and I were raised in New Berlin and Rob lives only a couple miles from the office! My husband and I are closing on our first home in a couple days and it is in New Berlin!

Featured in New Berlin Neighbors Magazine

Recently, I had the opportunity to orchestrate my parents being featured in the New Berlin Neighbors Magazine! It was such a fun opportunity to fill out information about my family and reflect on my time growing up in New Berlin. I even tried to make them laugh while having their pictures taken.

Thanks to Brian and Theresa Fellers, the publishers of the New Berlin Neighbors Magazine, Jolene McNutt and Watrous Photography for making such a beautiful article possible!

Below you can read the article by Jolene McNutt that was published in the November 2017 issue of New Berlin Neighbors.

The Featured Article:

Rob was home from college for a summer accounting internship when he met Heidi. After just eight days they were engaged! Rob went back to Brigham Young University for his fall semester and they set their wedding date for his first day home at the end of the semester.

“We shared the same faith,” said Rob. “So it was easier to identify our shared values and core beliefs.”  They are still active in their worship and church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Rob and Heidi will be celebrating 30 years of marriage in December. They have a standing date night on Friday nights. Sometimes they take their Harley out for a ride or have dinner at Heidi’s favorite restaurant, Senor Luna.

Rob and Heidi have grown a family and a business in New Berlin.

“I was the Chief Financial Officer of a local Plastics Company and also was the Trustee of the retirement plan and in charge of human resources,” said Rob. “As a CPA/PFS, I saw so many people struggling with finances and being mistreated by the financial industry. In 2001, I helped the owner sell the business and transition to the new owner then resigned from my position to start helping people win at their finances.”

Rob is proud to manage Du Charme Financial Group, one of the top producing branch of Global View Capital Advisors. “We're fiduciary financial advisors, which means we're committed to looking at the whole picture, and positioning you to achieve your dreams based on your best interests, not our own,” he said.

“Our strategic partnerships allow us access to a wide variety of best-in-class products, and our knowledge and experience allows us to create effective, productive financial strategies for our clients.”

Rob and his team of advisors and staff desire to cultivate relationships with their clients. They are unique because they work with both individuals and businesses. Rob explained that often financial advisors work on their own, but he believes that coming at a client’s needs with a team based approach provides better opportunities for the client.

“I always do what is best for my clients and help everyone no matter where they are at with their finances,” he said.

The Du Charme Financial Group is heavily invested in building community in New Berlin. Rob recognizes the growth that the New Berlin area is facing and has focused on helping to develop a sense of community among New Berlin’s businesses and residents.

“The people of New Berlin feel like a neighborhood community,” said Rob. He appreciates New Berlin’s friendly, close-knit feel and desires to help maintain that by advocating for local businesses while New Berlin grows.

Rob and Heidi built their home, designed by Rob’s father, on Observatory Road in 1993. They live next door to Rob’s parents and the home he grew up in.

“My parents taught me integrity, honesty, trust and confidence,” said Rob.

“We love that we have a nice, quiet neighborhood,” he said. “Our kids could play outside in nature growing up, and now our grandkids have that same opportunity.”

Rob and Heidi have four grown children and four grandchildren. Their oldest son, Robert, and his wife, Ashley, have three children, Nahla, Lila, and Jesse and live in Mukwonago.

Rob and Heidi’s only daughter, Ellie, is married to Eric and have one child, Benning, who will turn one in December. Ellie works with Rob as his Executive Assistant and Heidi watches Benning.

“It’s busy,” said Heidi. “I get to do more fun stuff as a grandparent, without the stress, like having sleepovers, going to the movies or the zoo!”

Their third child, Branden is active duty Army, posted at Ft. Lewis in Washington state with his wife, Alexis and dog, Lulu.

Their youngest, Tyler, is married to Makayla. He learned Spanish while on a church mission and works as a bilingual salesman at Wilde Honda.

Their close-knit family enjoys spending time together. Sometimes cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Badger and BYU. Earlier this fall Rob attended the Badgers vs. BYU game.

“I wore my Wisconsin jersey when they scored, and switched to BYU when they scored,” he said. “I wore a lot of red that game!”
